Calling all budding MasterChefs! Are you ready to get your bake on?
Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 situation, RSPCA’s Cupcake Day will be later than usual this year. While we were planning to bake for change in August, we’ve now opted for a spring-time date to make sure our gatherings are as safe as can be.
But don’t worry – you will have a chance to show off your culinary skills when Cupcake Day returns on Monday 26th October 2020.
Last year, more than 8,000 people nationwide signed up to host a Cupcake Day in their homes, schools and workplaces – and they made an enormous difference to animals in need by doing so.
“We won’t sugar-coat it. The impact of COVID-19 has hit us pretty hard. If ever there was a time to join in and raise some dough, now’s the best time to do it,” RSPCA Tasmania CEO Jan Davis said.
“We hope that by delaying the event, we can match or exceed last year’s efforts and raise much-needed funds to support our efforts to improve the welfare of animals.”
So grab your apron and preheat those ovens. It doesn’t matter if its doughnuts, lamingtons or traditional cupcakes you’re enjoying, the money you raise for Cupcake Day will be helping rescue, rehabilitate and rehome animals in need. Whether with your colleagues, schoolmates or family and friends, Cupcake Day is the purrfect way to bake change.
